1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup flour
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 eggs, beaten
Combine sugar, baking powder, salt and flour in a large bowl. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients. Blend well. Spread as thinly as possible in a 9-inch square pan. Bake at 325 degrees F for about 35 minutes.
Cool enough to handle. Cut into squares. You can either leave in squares and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar or roll each square into a ball, then roll in confectioners' sugar.
