This is one of my favorite desserts.
Layer 1
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
Layer 2
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed
Layer 3
2 (4 -serving) package Jell-O chocolate flavour
instant pudding & pie filling
3 1/2 cups milk, cold
Layer 4
1/2 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed
Layer 1: Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and melted butter. Press firmly into bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan.
Layer 2: Beat cream cheese with sugar and milk until smooth. Fold in Cool Whip topping. Spread over crust.
** When I make this layer I just beat the Cool Whip into the cream cheese rather than fold it in. It gives a more uniform taste.
Layer 3: Using cold milk, prepare pudding as directed on package. Pour over cream cheese layer, chill several hours or overnight.
Layer 4: Spread Cool Whip topping over pudding. Garnish with grated chocolate or nuts, if desired.
