First, many thanks to Oat for posting the original recipe. And thanks to Bean for forwarding Oat's recipe to me last week. Folks, these fries were absolutely AWESOME-- McDonald's beware (lol)! I never knew that oven-baked French fries could taste so good! Everyone in the family gobbled these right up! We served these fries along with Diana Neal's hoisin burgers the other day--talk about an unbeatable combination!
The only change I made was omitting the fresh parsley because it is next to impossible to find here. Thanks again to both of you for posting an out-of-this-world French fry recipe!
P.S. I also sprinkled my fries with salt and pepper as per Bean's tip.
12 ounces Ore-Ida frozen Golden Fries or Country Style Fries
1/2 tablespoon butter or canola margarine
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic (CD used garlic press)
2 tablespoons fresh parsley-finely chopped
2 tablespoons shredded parmesan cheese
Bake fries according to directions on package. Melt butter, olive oil, and garlic in small saucepan on low for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly to mellow garlic a bit. Place hot, crispy fries in medium-size bowl, drizzle with hot butter mixture and add fresh parsley and cheese over the top. Toss to blend. Spoon onto serving plates.
NOTE: I added salt and pepper before tossing. YUMMY! :-)
