3/4 c Yellow cornmeal

1-1/4 c Sifted all purpose flour

1 T Salt

2 T Shortening

1 c Boiling water

In a small mixing bowl mix together cornmeal, flour and salt. Stir in shortening and boiling

water, mix wwell. Shape to form 12 balls. Flatten each ball between 2 sheets waxed paper

to make a 5 inch circle. Bake on a hot ungreased griddle until cooked. Place each one in

hot oil about 1 inch deep and fold over with tongs. fry until crisp.
